A well-established life insurer is looking for an AVP, Finance Operations (Contract) to own month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, and the finance-IT interface for its distribution, health, and fixed asset lines. You'll be the finance SME bridging Business Analysts, IT, and Operations on system change, Day 2 requests, and process automation.
What you'll do
- Monthly book close aligned to group and local regulatory timelines
- Balance sheet substantiation & reconciliation - driving down aging and resolving breaks
- Finance's seat at the table for interface exceptions between policy admin systems and GL
- Scoping and delivering IT-driven finance projects, from milestone planning to execution
- Commission & distribution accounting, partnering closely with Distribution Support and Performance Management
- EUC controls and ongoing control enhancement
What you bring
- 4–5 years in finance operations, ideally within life insurance
- Track record leading finance transformation or IT-enabled control improvement projects
- Life insurance commission & distribution cost booking experience is a strong plus
- Comfort working across GL and policy admin systems; exposure to Alteryx, Power Builder, or AI-driven process tools is an advantage
- Degree in accounting and finance
