AVP/VP, DevOps Engineer
Summary
Architect and maintain secure, automated cloud-native banking environments using Terraform/Bicep, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines while embedding AI-assisted development tools.
About The Opportunity
Platform Evolution: Architect and maintain secure, automated cloud-native environments using declarative frameworks like Terraform and Bicep. Dual-Track CI/CD Architecture: Own end-to-end delivery pipelines, supporting both foundational cloud infrastructure builds and microservices application code deployments. AI-Driven Engineering: Incorporate modern AI-assisted development paradigms to accelerate infrastructure scripts, code reviews, and system optimizations. Cross-Hub Collaboration: Partner natively across our technical footprints in Singapore and Chennai to unify multi-tier pipeline promotions.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Automation
Cloud Platform Engineering: Build and maintain highly available, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure on Azure (or AWS/GCP) aligning with enterprise banking security standardizations. Declarative Provisioning (IaC): Develop, modularize, test, and govern environment deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools specifically focused on Terraform or Bicep templates. Container Orchestration: Deploy, scale, and troubleshoot containerized digital banking architectures leveraging Docker and Kubernetes/AKS clusters. Environment Governance: Configure, maintain, and safeguard stability parameters across Development, SIT, UAT, and live Production environments.
Dual-Track CI/CD Engineering & Developer Productivity
Infrastructure Pipeline Development: Design and implement automated pipelines tailored specifically to orchestrate cloud resource lifecycles, tracking drift control and compliance validations. Application Pipeline Development: Establish continuous integration and continuous deployment setups (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps) to rapidly compile, test, containerize, and deploy core digital banking web and mobile software packages. AI-Assisted Development: Adopt and embed modern AI development approaches—utilizing frameworks like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code—to accelerate scripting pipelines, audit infrastructure syntax, and drive developer productivity. Scripted Task Automation: Build custom operational tools and automate regular environment hygiene tasks using core engineering languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
Observability, Security & Compliance
Observability Implementations: Configure application and platform logging, distributed tracing, and telemetry alert rules using dashboards such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK. DevSecOps Integration: Embed automated compliance guardrails, vulnerability scans, and secure vaulting mechanisms (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault) directly within delivery pipelines. Banking Compliance Support: Ensure all automation configurations comply with rigorous financial regulatory controls, participating in security reviews and executing remediation paths.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Must demonstrate high proficiency in at least 4 of the following areas:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Mastery: Production-proven knowledge compiling, testing, and scaling cloud automation frameworks using Terraform or Bicep to manage complex landing zones. Dual-Track CI/CD Orchestration: Proven experience designing or optimizing distinct pipelines for both cloud infrastructure provisioning and multi-tier application software releases (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps). AI-Assisted Engineering Tools: Hands-on experience or functional familiarity with modern AI development approaches, specifically utilizing code generation and software development assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to maximize velocity. Cloud Infrastructure Exposure: Practical engineering knowledge of cloud platform management—specifically Azure core computing, storage network blocks, and integrated firewalls. Container Management: Practical experience working with Docker runtime engines and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (AKS/EKS). Automation Languages: Proficiency using scripting and programming logic via Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell to manipulate payloads and automate tasks. Observability Foundations: Experience deploying or adjusting log-correlation alerts and telemetry monitors (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Datadog, or Azure Monitor). Source & Workflow Management: Advanced Git mechanics including secure branch protection, release tagging, and standard pull request lifecycles.
Experience & Education
4+ years of professional hands-on experience across DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure Automation, or Systems Engineering tracks (corporate title allocation from AVP to VP will match verified expertise). Demonstrated background building or upgrading CI/CD architectures and automating system environments to decrease software turnaround time. Experience collaborating inside structured, high-availability setups—previous experience in banking, financial utilities, or highly regulated digital platforms is a distinct advantage. Familiarity with regional technology risks frameworks (such as MAS TRM guidelines) is considered highly beneficial. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical or quantitative discipline.
Professional Qualities
Automation-First Philosophy: Consistently looks for programmatic patterns to simplify manual delivery roadblocks and eliminate operational toil. Analytical Problem Solver: Approaches delivery breaks, platform bugs, and code exceptions with a methodical, root-cause tracking mentality. Effective Communicator: Capable of articulating infrastructure layouts, architectural blockers, and pipeline rules cleanly to engineering squads and regional stakeholders. Cross-Hub Collaborator: Enjoys working as a single aligned unit with regional counterparts situated across Singapore and Chennai hubs.
