AWS Cloud Engineer

Summary

Maintain and improve AWS cloud environments, build data pipelines, and automate infrastructure using IaC while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a large-scale, long-term program within a purpose-driven organisation.

This is a broad cloud engineering role combining AWS cloud infrastructure, data platforms, automation and project delivery. You’ll work across both BAU and project initiatives, helping maintain and improve an established AWS environment while contributing to new cloud and data solutions.

You don’t need to tick every box. We’re looking for someone with a strong AWS foundation who enjoys working across different areas of cloud technology and is keen to continue broadening their skillset.

The Role You’ll be involved in:
  • Supporting, maintaining and improving AWS cloud environments
  • Working across cloud infrastructure and data-focused solutions
  • Building and supporting data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Working with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Glue and API Gateway
  • Using Infrastructure as Code to automate cloud provisioning and configuration
  • Supporting APIs and connectivity between cloud applications and services
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and improving cloud platform performance
  • Contributing to cloud architecture, documentation and continuous improvement
  • Working closely with architects, engineers and broader business stakeholders
  • Supporting both BAU activities and project delivery
About You We’re interested in speaking with people from AWS Cloud Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Platform or Cloud/Data Engineering backgrounds.

Ideally, you’ll bring:
  • Strong hands-on experience working with AWS
  • Experience supporting or managing cloud infrastructure
  • Exposure to AWS data services such as Glue
  • Experience with ETL, data pipelines or data integration
  • Understanding of APIs and cloud-based services
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Python or other scripting experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft would be beneficial but is not essential.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is technically capable, adaptable and interested in working across a broader cloud environment rather than being limited to one specialist area.

What's On Offer
  • 12-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for extension
  • Additional benefits
  • Hybrid working – only 1–2 days per week onsite in Melbourne
  • Long-term program of work
  • Broad role offering exposure across cloud, data and integration
  • Opportunity to work within a collaborative, purpose-driven environment
