AWS Data Platform Senior Developer / DevOps
Summary
Leads AWS-based Data Mesh and Analytics Platform development, designing infrastructure, automating pipelines, and mentoring teams while optimizing performance and cost for a global client.
Mission:
Support in the technical development and operation of Client's AWS-based Data Mesh and Analytics Platform (CAP), including platform architecture, infrastructure development, and supervision of support resources.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Platform Development & Architecture (60%)
Design and implement Data Mesh infrastructure using AWS services and SDLF framework
Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, CDK)
Improve the building of data pipelines by data engineers using AWS SDLF
Implement data governance using AWS DataZone
Optimize platform performance, cost, and scalability
2. Technical Leadership & Supervision (25%)
Supervise platform support specialist(s) and provide technical guidance
Review infrastructure changes and deployments
Mentor junior resources on AWS and data mesh concepts
Coordinate with Covestro DevOps and data engineering teams
3. Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Management (15%)
Drive platform roadmap aligned with Covestro's data mesh strategy
Collaborate with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, Domain Owners, and business stakeholders
Evaluate and integrate new AWS services and tools
Provide technical consultation for data mesh adoption
Document architectural decisions and technical specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must-have:
Strong DevOps background with Git/GitHub, CI/CD, AWS CDK, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AWS CodePipeline.
Proven experience in troubleshooting, automation, and production support within AWS environments.
Strong English communication skills with the ability to work directly with customer stakeholders.
