Aws Devops Engineer

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure / Platform Engineering professional to lead and manage the cloud platform supporting Fable Fintech's multi-tenant, multi-region payment software.

The role will be responsible for designing, building, securing, and maintaining a highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure that supports financial institutions, banks, money transfer operators, and cross-border payment operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture, Kubernetes, DevOps, infrastructure automation, site reliability engineering (SRE), and cloud security.

Preferred candidate profile

1. Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Management

• Design and implement multi-region cloud architecture with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Define cloud infrastructure roadmap, scalability, and data residency strategies.
• Manage AWS cloud environments and ensure infrastructure reliability.

2. DevOps & Platform Engineering

• Build and manage Kubernetes infrastructure and container orchestration.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or equivalent tools.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Establish standardised deployment practices and platform engineering frameworks.

3. Site Reliability & Production Management

• Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Manage capacity planning, system performance, and cloud cost optimisation.

4. Cloud Security & Compliance

• Implement network security, isolation, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
• Manage secrets, encryption keys, and identity access management.
• Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 requirements.
• Maintain audit-ready infrastructure and change management processes.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with application development and product engineering teams.
• Support performance optimisation, application scalability, and deployment strategies.
• Ensure infrastructure readiness for new payment partners, integrations, and payment rails. 6. Incident & Risk Management
• Lead critical production incident responses in 24/7 environments.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement long-term corrective measures.

• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness.

Require Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerisation.
• Expertise in Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, Linux, and automation.
• Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS
• Proven experience in designing multi-region and highly available infrastructure.
• Experience managing 24/7 production environments and critical incidents.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks.
• Understanding of cloud security, multi-tenant SaaS architecture, and financial services infrastructure.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Banking, Fintech & Payments
• Exposure to cross-border payment platforms and transaction processing systems.
• Experience managing infrastructure for regulated financial environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership capabilities.
