AWS DevOps Engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, highly scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling for high-traffic production systems.
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer based in India.
This is an end-to-end cloud infrastructure role focused on building reliable, secure, and highly scalable AWS environments.
You will help design systems capable of handling unpredictable traffic surges, from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of requests per minute.
The role combines cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code, automation, CI/CD, observability, security, and cost optimization.
You will work closely with software engineers to establish strong infrastructure and deployment standards across production environments.
You’ll have significant ownership over architectural decisions, technical trade-offs, and the reliability of critical systems.

Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, highly available AWS infrastructure capable of supporting demanding production workloads.
- Architect cloud systems that can absorb sudden and significant traffic spikes while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Own infrastructure architecture decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and take accountability for production outcomes.
- Design and implement fault-tolerant architectures, high-availability solutions, and effective disaster recovery strategies.
- Build, manage, and continuously improve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, recovery, maintenance, and other operational workflows.
- Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, repeatable, and zero-downtime deployments.
- Partner with software engineering teams to establish and evolve infrastructure, deployment, and operational standards.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis while driving long-term improvements to system reliability and resilience.
- Own and continuously strengthen the cloud security posture by applying appropriate AWS security best practices.
- Monitor cloud usage and optimize infrastructure costs while preserving required performance, scalability, and availability.
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience working with AWS in production environments.
- Proven experience operating, scaling, and improving high-traffic and high-availability systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security principles, distributed systems, and infrastructure architecture.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Practical experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in scripting and experience with at least one programming language.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical decisions, trade-offs, failures, and lessons learned.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and make sound technical decisions without relying on rigid standard operating procedures.
- Strong ownership mindset, analytical thinking, and ability to solve complex infrastructure and production problems.
- AWS certifications are a plus.
- Experience working in fast-growing, high-scale environments or supporting modern web applications is advantageous.
