AWS Migration Project Manager

Summary

Manage an AWS migration project in Copenhagen, orchestrating three workstreams—VDI/end-user compute, EC2-based HPC hosting, and large-scale file/database migration—while handling planning, governance, stakeholder coordination, and vendor management.

Description:

The AWS Migration Program operates within Digital Technology, delivering program-level roadmaps, governance, and technical guidance for migrating workloads to AWS. The program aims to successfully migrate approximately 100 applications, enhancing security, reducing costs, and expediting delivery.

  • A complex sub-project requires an experienced Project Manager to oversee three key workstreams:

    1. Establish secure, scalable AWS-based end-user compute capability for engineering workloads (Windows VDI, AWS WorkSpaces).

    2. Enable EC2-based compute and application hosting for HPC and latency-sensitive platforms.

    3. Migrate large volumes of file data and databases to AWS with repeatable patterns.

The Project Manager will orchestrate the delivery of these workstreams, managing planning and execution while ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    End-to-end project leadership & governance:

    • Own the integrated project plan including delivery cadence and milestones.

    • Establish governance forums and maintain RAID logs.

    • Drive migration wave planning including sequencing and entry criteria.

    Stakeholder, vendor, and cross-team coordination:

    • Coordinate between internal teams and external vendors.

    • Establish clear decision paths and ownership boundaries.

  • Key Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Project Manager for cloud/infrastructure migration projects.

    • Strong stakeholder management and execution discipline.

    • Experience coordinating across security, networking, and application teams.

    • Hands-on experience with migration wave planning and hypercare handover.

    • Working knowledge of AWS migration patterns and services.

  • Nice to Have:

    • Experience with VDI/EUC transformations.

    • Experience in large-scale file and database migrations.

    • Familiarity with HPC and latency-sensitive workload considerations.

    • Experience in regulated environments with strong security governance.
