PBT Group is looking for an experienced AWS Python Developer to join a strategic cloud transformation programme within one of South Africa's leading financial institutions.

You'll play a key role in the re-platforming of a large-scale enterprise collections platform, replacing a legacy on-premise solution with a modern cloud-based SaaS platform. Working within an Agile delivery team, you'll design and develop scalable, secure integration components using modern AWS serverless technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, building cloud-native applications, and developing high-performance event-driven solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop cloud-native applications using Python.
  • Build secure REST APIs and API integrations.
  • Design and develop AWS Lambda serverless functions.
  • Develop scalable event-driven integration solutions using SQS and SNS.
  • Design resilient, secure and high-performing integration services.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Developers, Business Analysts and QA teams.
  • Participate in solution design, code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and best practices.

Required Experience:

We're looking for someone with proven hands-on experience in:

  • Python development (essential)
  • AWS Lambda
  • REST API design and development

  • AWS IAM and security best practices
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Amazon SQS & SNS
  • Integration development
  • Secure API development
