Axway API Gateway Module Lead
Job description – Axway API Management
- Design, configure, and deploy API proxies, policies, and virtual APIs using Axway Amplify API Gateway and API Manager
- Develop and manage API lifecycle processes — design, publishing, versioning, deprecation, and retirement
- Implement security policies including OAuth2, JWT, API key management, rate limiting, and threat protection
- Configure and troubleshoot API Gateway filters, circuits, and policy chains
- Collaborate with architects and developers to integrate APIs with backend systems using REST, SOAP, JMS, and MQ
- Support API onboarding for internal and external consumers, including partner integrations
- Monitor API performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve production incidents (L2/L3 support)
- Participate in code reviews, environment promotions (DEV → SIT → UAT → PROD), and release management
- Prepare technical documentation, API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger), and runbooks
- Work within Agile/Scrum delivery models and coordinate with onshore/offshore and client stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of total IT experience, with 3+ years dedicated to Axway API Management (API Gateway, API Manager, API Portal)
- Strong understanding of API security standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, mTLS)
- Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, and messaging protocols (JMS, MQ)
- Good hold in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle)
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell/Groovy/Python — good to have)
- Understanding of API governance, versioning strategies, and API monetization concepts
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus
- Good to have: exposure to IBM DataPower, MuleSoft, or other API Gateway platforms
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work directly with client teams

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment
- Team collaboration and mentoring capability for junior consultants
