Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

The Student Intramural Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership during intramural contests and events. This position supports participants’ enjoyment, intramural officials’ development, and communication with the intramural office. Candidates must have prior work experience as an intramural sports official.

Transferable Skills:

Students will develop their customer service, leadership, and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and support for officials during intramural programming.

• Communicate effectively with the intramural office, utilizing necessary reports.

• Assist in conducting pre-season rules meetings and trainings.

• Oversee the set-up and teardown of intramural sites.

• Evaluate and mentor officials formally and informally to foster improvement.

• Solve problems and manage conflict in the best interest of the program.

• Develop positive relationships with the participants.

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills):

• Work availability on evenings and Sundays.

• Thorough knowledge and interest in one or more team sports.

• Strong customer service, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• Previous officiating experience preferred.

• Experience participating in high school sports or intramural sports preferred.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, and lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs. to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
