Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer
Summary
12-month contract (with extensions) for a hands-on DevSecOps engineer on a major Australian Federal Government program in Canberra. Day to day: building, automating and securing Azure infrastructure using Azure DevOps, Terraform/IaC (Bicep/ARM) and Linux, plus security controls like RBAC, Azure Policy and Defender for Cloud. Minimum NV1 security clearance required.
Salary: $150 - $190 p.h.
The Network are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join a major Federal Government program in Canberra. This is a hands-on role focused on building, automating and securing Microsoft Azure infrastructure within a complex enterprise environment.
Location: Canberra preference - Must hold minimum NV1 clearance
Contract: 12 months x2 12 month extensions
The role suits an engineer with strong Azure DevOps, Terraform/IaC, Linux and cloud security experience who can work across infrastructure, application and security teams.
The Role
- Design, build and maintain secure Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
- Develop automated infrastructure and application deployments using Azure DevOps, Terraform, Bicep and/or ARM.
- Implement and improve Azure security controls across RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud and vulnerability management.
- Develop reusable automation, cloud foundations and self-service capabilities while contributing to technical leadership and knowledge transfer.
Key Skills
- Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps experience within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code capability, ideally including Bicep and/or ARM templates.
- Experience across DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud security, vulnerability management, Azure RBAC, Azure Policy and Defender for Cloud.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring and experience working with architects, developers, infrastructure and security teams.
