We're partnering with a major Australian enterprise to find a hands-on Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Operations team and help operate, automate and continuously improve a large Microsoft Azure environment.
This isn't a purely BAU or ticket-driven CloudOps role. You'll work across day-to-day cloud operations alongside automation, security, observability, FinOps and project initiatives, with increasing exposure to AI-assisted operations and AIOps.
The Opportunity You'll join an established Cloud Operations function responsible for the reliability, security and ongoing improvement of Azure services across production and non-production environments.
Working alongside CloudOps, Software Engineering, Security, Integration and Data teams, you'll get exposure across:
- Azure IaaS and PaaS services
- Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell and Ansible
- Kubernetes / AKS
- GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights
- Cloud security and Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- SRE, observability and incident improvement
- FinOps and cloud cost optimisation
- AI-assisted operations and emerging AIOps capabilities
What We're Looking For You'll ideally have 3+ years' experience across Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, Infrastructure, DevOps or a similar hands-on environment.
We're particularly interested in experience across:
- Strong Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services
- Terraform, Bicep or other Infrastructure as Code tooling
- PowerShell and infrastructure automation
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or CI/CD pipelines
- Azure networking, identity, security and monitoring
- Kubernetes / AKS exposure
- Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or Application Insights
- Cloud security, SRE or FinOps practices
Why Consider It?
This is a great opportunity for an Azure Engineer looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional cloud operations.
You'll join a collaborative team with experienced engineers around you, while gaining exposure to modern CloudOps, automation, SRE, security, FinOps and emerging AI capabilities.
The business offers a genuine hybrid environment with two office days per week, flexibility around personal commitments and minimal out-of-hours call-outs.
If you're looking for a hands-on Azure role where you can continue developing technically while contributing to the evolution of a large enterprise cloud environment, we'd love to hear from you.
