Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Azure Data Engineer with 4–6 years of experience and strong hands‑on expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Python, and SQL. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, support cloud‑native data engineering workloads, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance data solutions within Azure.

This is a fully onsite role in Amsterdam, requiring close collaboration with engineering, analytics, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Data Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Implement scalable data processing solutions using Azure Databricks (ADB) and PySpark.

Python & SQL Development

• Write efficient Python scripts for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline logic.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for analytics and reporting.
• Work with relational and cloud‑native data sources.

Cloud Data Platform Operations

• Support Azure‑based data environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers on deployments, configurations, and environment management.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and ensure smooth daily operations.

Data Quality & Optimization

• Implement data validation, error handling, and monitoring frameworks.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in data governance and documentation.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineering teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
• Document workflows, pipelines, and technical designs clearly and consistently.
