Role Description
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level data solutions with a strong focus on cloud-based ETL workflows and large-scale SQL data marts. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, as well as advanced proficiency in Azure data technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of ETL (Extraction, Transformation, Loading) processes, utilizing frameworks such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Databricks, including establishing and managing cloud connectivity across systems such as ADLS | ADF | Synapse | Databricks.
- Develop and support T‑SQL programming solutions, leveraging Azure Data Factory frameworks and Python scripting.
- Apply a minimum of 8 years of experience working with large SQL data marts, showing expert-level relational database knowledge.
- Navigate and analyze massive data volumes to deliver efficient and effective data extraction, design, loading, and reporting solutions for business partners.
- Provide at least 8 years of troubleshooting and support for large database environments, including test planning and execution activities.
- Identify, report, and manage database security issues, including user access management.
- Design and support database backup strategies, archiving, storage management, performance tuning, ETL processing, and capacity planning, including importing large volumes of data from multiple systems.
- Experience within financial institution data marts is considered an asset.
- Experience with .NET applications is considered an asset.
- Experience and expertise in Tableau dashboard design is considered an asset.
- Work effectively independently and within a team environment.
