Summary
DevOps engineer supporting backend payment (SEPA Direct Debit) platforms in the Netherlands: keeping them available and secure, handling incidents and on-call, running deployments, improving monitoring, and automating. Core stack: Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, Ansible, Git, OpenShift, Java, ELK/Grafana/Prometheus, Oracle, Kafka.
As a Proficient DevOps Engineer, the candidate will support backend applications within the Payments domain, specifically in the SEPA Direct Debits area.
The candidate will contribute to ensuring the availability, security, and lifecycle management (LCM) of critical platforms.
Role & Responsibilities
As part of a hybrid team, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring high availability and operational stability of the platforms
- Managing technical and functional incidents, including participation in the on-call rotation
- Supporting pre-production and production deployments
- Contributing to monitoring and alerting improvements
- Driving automation initiatives to increase efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with risk and security standards
Required Skills
Core Expertise
- Strong experience in Incident, Change, and Configuration Management (ITIL)
- Experience in Lifecycle management, risk management, and documentation
- Hands-on experience with
- Red Hat OpenShift or equivalent container platforms
- Running containerized microservices
- Running Java components in virtualized environment
- Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines using YAML, Ansible, Git)
- Knowledge of Ansible is must
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools: ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
- Experience with Oracle or other relational databases
- Experience with Kafka topics usage
- Experience or strong interest in Payments domain
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum way of working
- Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation (24/7 service availability)
Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
- Previous Operations experience within Financial domain
- Understanding of Java and Spring framework concepts
- Experience with GridGain, Apache Ignite, or other in-memory data solutions
- Knowledge of Cloud computing concepts
- Interest in Automation of repetitive tasks
