Azure Devops Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Network Platform Engineer for an initial six-month contract with a leading Australian healthcare organisation. This position is available immediately and requires someone with deep, hands-on expertise in designing, supporting and troubleshooting complex Azure network environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the security, resilience and operational stability of the organisation’s Azure cloud and data platforms. This is a senior technical position requiring someone who can take ownership of difficult networking issues, work confidently across infrastructure and security teams, and improve the environment through automation and infrastructure as code.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing, supporting and optimising complex Azure network environments
  • Managing Azure VNets, subnets, peering, routing, NSGs and user-defined routes
  • Configuring and troubleshooting private endpoints, Private Link and private DNS
  • Supporting Azure Firewall, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute and hybrid connectivity
  • Diagnosing complex connectivity, routing, DNS, latency and security issues
  • Implementing secure network segmentation and controlled access between environments
  • Supporting connectivity across Azure services, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory and other data platforms
  • Developing infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform
  • Maintaining CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps or similar Git-based platforms
  • Improving monitoring, alerting, documentation and operational runbooks
  • Working closely with cloud, data, infrastructure, security and vendor teams
To be successful, you will require:
  • Extensive commercial experience in Azure networking and cloud infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge of Azure networking architecture and security
  • Strong experience with hybrid cloud connectivity and private networking
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex Azure network incidents
  • Hands-on Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub or GitLab deployment pipelines
  • Strong understanding of RBAC, secrets management, security controls and audit requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
Experience supporting Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, dbt Cloud, Power BI or other modern data platforms would be highly advantageous.
This is an initial six-month contract based in Preston, with an immediate start available.
