Azure Devops Engineer
Description
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Region CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain complex Azure CI/CD
pipelines (using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) to automate infrastructure deployments across
multiple geographic regions for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Kubernetes Orchestration: Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Azure Kubernetes
Service (AKS) clusters to host enterprise APIs, microservices, and frontend web applications.
- Azure Networking & Security: Configure and secure complex Azure networking components.
This includes setting up Virtual Networks (VNets), securing traffic with Private Endpoints,
configuring Layer 7 routing via AFD/Application Gateway, and managing custom domain
configurations and TLS/SSL certificates.
- Application Deployment Integration: Partner closely with software engineering teams to
streamline the containerization and automated deployment of decoupled APIs and frontend
assets into both the AKS ecosystem and Containerized App Services.
- Observability & Reliability: Establish robust observability across the entire Azure and
Kubernetes stack, ensuring deep visibility into system performance, uptime, and latency.
- Custom Monitoring & Dashboards: Utilize Kusto Query Language (KQL) to build highly
customized, actionable monitoring dashboards and advanced alerting rules within Azure Monitor
and Log Analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Azure Mastery: Proven experience operating Microsoft Azure as a primary cloud provider in a
high-traffic production environment, with deep knowledge of compute, network, and storage
services.
- Deep AKS Expertise: Strong operational knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Must
understand cluster autoscaling, node pools, RBAC, pod security, and Helm package
management.
- CI/CD Automation: Proven hands-on experience building robust deployment pipelines from
scratch for large-scale, multi-region cloud infrastructure using Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines) or
GitHub Actions.
- Network Architecture: Solid fundamental and practical knowledge of Azure cloud networking
concepts, specifically Hub-and-Spoke topologies, Private Endpoints/Private Link, DNS, and traffic
routing.
- Monitoring & KQL: Hands-on experience with Azure Log Analytics, Application Insights, and
Azure Monitor. Must be highly proficient in writing complex KQL queries to extract telemetry
data, trace logs, and construct operational dashboards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with service meshes (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) within an AKS environment.
- Familiarity with open-source observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
alongside native Azure tools.
- Relevant Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-104 Azure Administrator, AZ-305 Azure Solutions
Architect, AZ-400 DevOps Engineer, or CKA/CKAD).
