The Role

Our client is looking for two experienced Azure Network Engineers to join the Cloud & Data Centre Services team in Dublin.

This is a hands‑on cloud engineering role, focused on building and automating enterprise-scale Azure networking solutions. You will work with Terraform, Python and scripting to develop Infrastructure as Code, automation and cloud network capabilities as part of the Bank’s wider cloud strategy.

This is not an application support or BAU support role. We are looking for engineers who enjoy building, coding, automating and solving complex cloud engineering challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and engineer secure, scalable Azure networking solutions.
  • Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Develop automation and tooling using Python and scripting.
  • Work with Azure VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall and hybrid connectivity.
  • Create reusable Terraform modules and automated infrastructure solutions.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated cloud deployments.
  • Work with architects and engineering teams on cloud solution design.
  • Participate in architecture and technical design reviews.
  • Apply strong security, resilience and performance principles to all solutions.
  • Help develop and improve enterprise cloud engineering standards and capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years’ experience in IT, including 5+ years in Cloud Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with Azure networking.
  • Strong hands-on Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
  • Good Python and/or scripting experience.
  • Experience with cloud automation and CI/CD.
  • Experience designing and engineering enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security and governance.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX environments.
  • Experience with containers such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift is advantageous.

You should have strong practical experience with areas such as:

  • ExpressRoute
  • Routing
  • Private connectivity
  • Network security and segmentation

Enterprise & Financial Services Experience

Experience within a large enterprise environment is essential, with banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.

You will need to understand the realities of engineering within a highly regulated environment, including:

  • Security and risk controls
  • Change and release processes
  • Resilience and availability
  • Access and privileged access controls
  • Regulatory and audit requirements

We are looking for someone who understands not just how to build cloud solutions, but how to build them correctly within a large, highly regulated financial institution.

Why This Role?

You’ll be joining the Cloud & Data Centre Services organisation and working on enterprise-scale cloud engineering initiatives within one of the world’s leading financial institutions.

This is an opportunity to work on modern Azure cloud engineering, Infrastructure as Code, automation and network transformation, alongside experienced technology and architecture teams.
