Requirements:- We need extensive hands-on experience engineering and supporting Azure platforms in large-scale production environments.
- We need expert-level PowerShell skills with a proven track record of developing reusable automation and tooling.
- We need strong Azure networking knowledge, including VNets, NSGs, DNS, routing, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
- We need experience managing VM image build and release processes using technologies such as Azure Image Builder, Packer, or Shared Image Galleries.
- We need proven Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- We need a strong understanding of Azure governance, policy implementation, RBAC, managed identities, and compliance controls.
- We need experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, networking, and application issues within enterprise environments.
- We need excellent communication skills with the ability to produce technical documentation and mentor engineering teams.
- Desirable: Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale architecture.
- Desirable: Azure Policy authoring and remediation.
- Desirable: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Desirable: Entra ID and identity governance.
- Desirable: Financial services or regulated industry experience.
- Desirable: Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400.
- We manage and maintain Azure VM image build and release processes.
- We implement Azure governance policies and remediate compliance issues.
- We develop Infrastructure as Code solutions and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- We create robust PowerShell automation for platform operations.
- We configure and support Azure networking services.
- We lead the investigation and resolution of complex production incidents.
- We work closely with platform, application, and cybersecurity teams to improve platform capability and resilience.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role within a large-scale Azure environment that supports critical digital services used by colleagues and customers worldwide. The role is based in Sheffield with a hybrid working arrangement of three days on-site, on a 3-month-plus contract, with a competitive day rate of £447 inside IR35.
