About the role

Description of the entity/team
The mission of the Orange Business B2B Global Sourcing direction, which reports to Global Delivery and Operations and is an integral part of the Group's purchasing and supply chain organization, is to support the Orange Business teams in providing competitive solutions to our B2B customers (France and International), while managing risks and integrating social responsibility into contracts. Approximately 2 billion euros of expenditure are under its responsibility, on a scope of 6,500 suppliers to date.

The B2B Global Sourcing Direction will comprise 4 new entities:

  • 1 business partner entity for customer projects sourcing: "Project Sourcing"
  • 2 strategic sourcing entities: "Telecom Sourcing" and "B2B Category Sourcing"
  • 1 entity in support of entities above: "Sourcing Operations"

Project Sourcing entity will be responsible for managing the purchasing of products and services for customer deals worth more than €1m TCV brought in by OB France and OB International, as well as for meeting local internal requirements for international. Around €500m of expenditure will be under its responsibility, across a very wide range of suppliers, including resale and managed services, hardware, software, licenses and professional services. The entity sits at the crossroads of Orange Business's needs and is closely connected with, among others: OB International, OB France, DEF HdM, Secteur public, GDO Supply Chain, OBS SA Sourcing, OCD Sourcing and Orange Affiliates.

Mission

As part of Project Sourcing Europe, the Buyer is acting as a trusted advisor on all sourcing subjects related to customer projects. He or she coordinates customer project sourcing activity from conception to completion.

Description of main responsibilities

Runs and implements the sourcing process in compliance with the "7 Steps" process for customer projects scope.

He or she is responsible for:

  • Proactively leads gathering of customer requirements;
  • Develops sourcing strategies (price target, negotiation scripts, back to back, etc.) based on market knowledge of customer project context;
  • Conducts commercial negotiations (mainly face to face) with suppliers (pricing, commercial clauses of the contracts, etc.);
  • Recommends target price, benchmarks and presents them to stakeholders;
  • Sets up mutually beneficial working relationships with sales and presales teams;
  • Gathers stakeholders and customer requirements;
  • Ensures appropriate involvement of key geographical and functional stakeholders in OBS to get buy-in and ensure all parties are aligned and able to deliver the customer proposal;
  • Manages relationships with suppliers (supplier owner);
  • Sets up regular reviews, tracks supplier's performance;
  • Acts as a single point of contact to the supplier for commercial issues related to his or her commodities;
  • Participates actively in market and supplier performance monitoring;
  • Contributes to partnership activity wherever supplier's governance is managed by the partnership entity;
  • Acts as the interface between the various sourcing stakeholders and the customer project, responding optimally and creatively to customer project sourcing requirements to short deadlines;
  • Negotiates, prepares and approves external agreements while ensuring that the objectives defined by sourcing and the needs of the customer contract are implemented;
  • Ensures good relationships between stakeholders, and develops a good understanding of their needs;
  • Experienced in contractual and financial management;
  • Analyzes and benchmarks all suppliers' offers dedicated to customer projects;
  • Manages and negotiates contractual and pricing aspects with the suppliers;
  • Is the reference point in terms of pricing knowledge for stakeholders.

About you

Education:
Advanced degree in Business Management or Purchasing or Sales.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years in or with sourcing (sales experience a plus), preferably in B2B, and knowledge of at least one product or technology area.
