Position Summary
The B2G Business Developer is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing business opportunities with federal, state, local, tribal, and military government agencies. This role develops strategic relationships with government officials, procurement organizations, prime contractors, developers, and industry partners to expand the company's presence within the public sector.
The ideal candidate has experience selling complex products or construction solutions into government markets and possesses a strong understanding of public procurement processes, government contracting vehicles, and funding programs. This individual will serve as a key ambassador for the company while driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships and contract opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue government contracting opportunities across federal, state, local, tribal, and military agencies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive B2G business development strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, procurement officials, housing authorities, municipalities, military installations, emergency management organizations, and elected officials.
- Identify opportunities involving modular housing, workforce housing, disaster recovery, affordable housing, military housing, and public infrastructure projects.
- Monitor government procurement portals, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to identify new business opportunities.
- Coordinate proposal development with internal engineering, legal, finance, operations, and executive leadership teams.
- Develop teaming arrangements and strategic partnerships with general contractors, developers, architects, engineering firms, and government contractors.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, procurement events, and government networking functions.
- Manage the full government sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract award and project transition.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and CRM documentation.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging funding programs, legislation, grants, and public-sector initiatives that create business opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop government-focused sales materials, presentations, and capability statements.
- Negotiate contracts and support contract administration as needed.
- Maintain a strong understanding of government acquisition regulations, procurement procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Provide regular reports on pipeline activity, forecasts, market intelligence, and competitive analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
