Job Description: Backend Developer (Java / Spring Boot / Microservices)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance server-side applications. You will heavily leverage Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture to build critical APIs and enterprise solutions that drive our business forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Microservices Development: Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable, decoupled, and secure microservices using Spring Boot.
  • API Design: Build, document (Swagger/ Open API), and maintain robust RESTful APIs.
  • System Architecture: Participate in technical design and architectural discussions, ensuring implementations align with distributed system best practices.
  • Database Management: Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL/NoSQL queries and manage data persistence using Spring Data JPA or Hibernate.
  • Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Implement comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and low latency across backend services.

Required Technical Skills

  • Core Java: Deep understanding of Java (Java 8 / Java 11 / Java 17+), including OOP principles, multithreading, collections, and concurrency.
  • Frameworks: Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud features (Discovery Server, Config Server, API Gateway).
  • Architecture: Strong knowledge of Microservices design patterns (e.g., Circuit Breaker, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Saga pattern).
  • ORM / Databases: Proficient with Hibernate, JPA, and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle).
  • Tools & Version Control: Experience with Maven or Gradle, and Git for version control.
