Back End Developer

Salary: $88 per hour plus super

Our client is a global leader in developing innovative, networked building automation and digital solutions.

As a Backend Developer, you will join a team of experienced software engineers responsible for developing and enhancing market-leading technology solutions. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, using modern development methodologies, tools and engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance software solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop high-quality, scalable and reliable backend applications and services.
• Work within an Agile development environment and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
• Develop and maintain web services and APIs using modern technologies.
• Provide responsive technical support for software solutions and assist with issue resolution.
• Collaborate with software engineers, technical teams and stakeholders to identify and implement best-practice solutions.
• Contribute to automated unit and integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews and technical problem-solving.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong experience developing high-quality web-based solutions using modern development tools and techniques.
• Strong backend development experience with .NET / C#.
• Experience developing Web Services and REST APIs.
• Experience with technologies such as WCF, gRPC and/or C++ is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalable and performant application design.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience with automated unit and integration testing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Highly Valued Skills

• Experience deploying and hosting services on-premises and in Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Front-end development experience.
• Experience working on commercial software products or platforms.
• Experience with distributed, scalable and highly available systems.
