Back-End Developer – PHP / C
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Back-End Developer to design, develop, maintain and improve critical PHP and C applications within a complex IT environment. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team working on the modernization of legacy systems and migration towards a modern architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test applications based on functional and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain PHP and C applications in a high-availability environment.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain and improve existing applications and provide technical support.
- Develop and integrate REST and SOAP web services.
- Contribute to technical architecture and propose improvements to existing solutions.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Follow technological developments and provide technical recommendations.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of PHP 5.6, 7 and 8, JavaScript and C.
- Strong experience with C server-side programming, including asynchronous programming and threads.
- Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services.
- Experience with AngularJS, Ajax, jQuery, CodeIgniter and Git/DevOps.
- Knowledge of Linux/Red Hat environments.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols.
- Knowledge of C#, Xamarin and related technologies is an advantage.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Dutch, French and English proficiency.

- Duration: Until end of 2026, extendable
- Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Location: Brussels
- Work model: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite
