About the role
PT Global Berkat Digital is seeking a talented Back End Developer to join our growing technology team. In this full-time position based in West Jakarta, Jakarta, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our digital solutions. As a Back End Developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our applications are scalable, secure, and perform efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects whilst collaborating with a dynamic team of developers and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems, APIs, and databases using modern programming languages and frameworks
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices
Collaborate with front-end developers and product teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Optimise database queries and system performance to ensure scalability and reliability
Implement security best practices and ensure data protection compliance
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
Document system architecture, APIs, and technical specifications for future reference
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in back-end development
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Proven experience as a Back End Developer or similar role for at least 2-3 years
Strong proficiency in one or more back-end programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, PHP, or C#
Solid understanding of database design and SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
Experience with RESTful API development and web services
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
Knowledge of software development methodologies and agile practices
Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure (preferred)
Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker (preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
