Back Office Controller

Do you enjoy getting to the bottom of complex processes and finding ways to make them work better?

As Back Office Controller at Mind Energy, you’ll work hands-on with the controls that connect trade execution with settlement. You’ll investigate discrepancies, strengthen data quality and gradually build a solid understanding of the products and processes behind our energy trading activities.

You’ll take ownership of your area, using SQL and Excel to improve and automate controls as you develop your understanding of the business.

DIVE INTO WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY TASKS WILL BE

You’ll get close to the details of energy trading, from checking trades and settlements to understanding the processes behind them.

Your mission is to:

• Validate and reconcile trades, fees and settlements, investigating discrepancies and ensuring reliable data.

• Support invoicing, settlement alignment and month-end financial processes.

• Use SQL and Excel to strengthen and automate controls, reducing manual work and making daily processes more efficient.

• Build an understanding of Customer Business and its dependencies to identify opportunities for better controls and processes.

• Collaborate with Customer Business, Risk, Finance and Tech on post-trade workflows, new products and market developments.

• Contribute to regulatory reporting and audit readiness, including REMIT and EMIR requirements.

You’ll join our Back Office Operations team in Finance Operations, where we work with the controls and systems supporting trading and customer activities.

You have an analytical mind and an eye for detail. When something doesn’t add up, you enjoy tracing it back to the source and figuring out what happened. You bring structure to your work and are curious about what data can reveal.

We imagine you bring:

• A relevant educational background in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.

• Experience in controlling, back-office operations, settlement or an energy trading support function.

• Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of SQL and some experience with VBA, with an interest in automation and data-driven controls.

• The ability to work independently and collaborate closely with colleagues in other teams.

• Fluency in Danish and professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
