Summary
Build and maintain backend services for Alpega’s freight marketplace using Java/Spring, REST APIs, and databases, while contributing to architecture and quality in an Agile team.

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Developer. This role is for our Carrier Products Team and will be part of the core Product development team, based in Sant Cugat, Spain. You will be working on a large and capable team dedicated to the maintenance and development of the Alpega Marketplace products.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will participate in all the phases of the project, from the technical analysis up to the release into production. Will design, operate, and maintain new and current solutions in an Agile environment to continuously deliver value to customers. Drive the software quality, security, and performance through unit, functional, and performance tests. Support continuous improvements of the team and the development environment. Contribute to technical discussions and actively participate in the architectural decisions of the team.
WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR
Must have:
- 4-6+ years of experience with Java and Spring Framework.
- Experience with dependency management tools.
- Experience working and developing REST API’s.
- Knowledge of: SOLID principles, design patterns, Git.
- Experience using Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Solid knowledge of unit testing methodologies.
- High standards for code quality.
- A proactive person that is looking forward to learning and growing in an international work environment.
- Fluent in Spanish & English.
Nice to have:
- Jenkins
- TypeScript
- Angular
- Experience/certification with AWS
- Experience with application server like JBoss/WildFly/Spring Boot
