Backend Developer ( Intern, Jr, Grads ) (Start ASAP)

Discussion

Summary

Entry-level backend developer (intern/junior/grad) at AICines, building and scaling APIs, the data layer, and infrastructure behind its AI video streaming pipeline. Fully remote with flexible hours; requires working knowledge of one backend language (Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and databases.

Your role

As a Backend Developer at AICines, you'll build and scale the services powering AICines' AI video pipeline — APIs, data, and the infrastructure creators and viewers depend on.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Design and build APIs that power the streaming platform and creator tools
  • Scale backend services to handle real production traffic
  • Work on the data layer underneath AICines' AI video pipeline
  • Fix real bugs and handle real scale problems as the platform grows
  • Collaborate directly with founders and senior engineers on production systems

Training, development & rotations

You'll be paired with senior team members from week one and work directly on live problems rather than sandboxed exercises. Because AICines spans streaming, social product, AI generation, and film production, there's genuine scope to explore adjacent areas — infrastructure, data pipelines, or AI-adjacent backend work — based on where your interest develops.

Salary & benefits

Compensation is benchmarked competitively for remote roles and varies by experience level. The role is fully remote with flexible working hours. You'll get hands‑on exposure to production AI systems and a live platform with real users, plus direct access to founders and senior engineers.

Career progression

AICines is scaling, and progression is based on impact rather than tenure. Strong performers move into specialised backend/infra tracks or broader technical leadership roles as the team grows. Interns who perform well are considered for full-time positions.

Who we're looking for

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of at least one backend language/framework (Node.js, Python, Java, or similar) and databases
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, remote-first team
  • Curious, self-directed, and able to communicate technical decisions clearly
  • No prior professional experience required — students, recent graduates, and junior candidates are all encouraged to apply
