Backend Developer (Kotlin/Spring Boot)

What you'll do

We are looking for a Backend Developer specialized in Kotlin and Spring Boot who is passionate about software best practices and the design of scalable architectures. You will be part of a collaborative technical team where your code will have a direct impact and where you will promote technical excellence in every delivery.

• Backend Development with Kotlin and Spring Boot: You will build robust and highly maintainable services using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• REST API Design and Implementation: You will design and integrate web services supported by tools such as Swagger and Open API.
• Persistence and Messaging Systems: You will manage data with SQL and DynamoDB databases, as well as integrations with Amazon SQS Queues.
• Excellence in Code Quality: You will guarantee solid automated testing by applying JUnit and Mockito, and ensuring quality standards through SonarQube.
• Environment Management and Continuous Integration: You will use Git, IntelliJ, Rancher Desktop, Maven, Jira and automated workflows with GitLab / GitLab Actions.
• Documentation and Knowledge Management: You will maintain code and process documentation using Markdown, Obsidian and Gherkin.
• Implementation of Agile Methodologies and Testing: You will participate in Scrum and Scrumban dynamics, applying TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) strategies.
• Continuous Monitoring and Observability: You will integrate Continuous Monitoring / Observability practices to maintain the visibility and health of applications in production.
• Architecture and Design Principles: You will work with Clean Code, SOLID, DRY, KISS and YAGNI principles, based on Hexagonal and Event-Driven Architecture.
• Infrastructure and Continuous Integration: You will support deployments with CI/CD and Automated Deployment, Infrastructure as Code and ensure high modularity, horizontal scalability, and fault tolerance (Resilience and Fault Tolerance).

What we're looking for

• Demonstrable experience working in Backend development with Kotlin and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
• Track record of applying agile methodologies (Scrum / Scrumban) in collaborative environments.
• Hands-on experience working under event-oriented architectures (Event Driven Architecture) and Hexagonal Architecture.

Technical Proficiency

• Must-have
• Languages and Frameworks: Proficiency in Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Databases and Cloud: Hands-on experience in SQL, DynamoDB and Amazon SQS Queues.
• Quality and Testing: Extensive experience in TDD, JUnit, Mockito, SonarQube and Clean Code / SOLID Principles.
• Version Control and Tooling: Daily use of Git, REST, Open API / Swagger, Maven, GitLab and Jira.
• Architecture and Best Practices: Knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture, Event Driven Architecture, DRY, KISS and YAGNI.
• Nice-to-have
• Knowledge of BDD using Gherkin.
• Handling of GitLab Actions, Rancher Desktop and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in implementing CI/CD and Continuous Monitoring / Observability.
• Handling of note-taking/documentation tools such as Obsidian and Markdown.
