About the role
We are seeking a talented Backend Developer (Python/Node.js) – Cloud Deployment to our Team Remotely from Malaysia. This is a full-time position that will be pivotal in developing and maintaining our cloud-based backend infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and deploying scalable backend services that power our financial technology solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud technologies whilst contributing to the strategic growth of our organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Python and/or Node.js
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end applications and third-party integrations
- Implement database solutions and optimise queries for improved system performance
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in production and development environments
- Participate in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline development and improvement
- Monitor application performance and implement optimisations to enhance reliability and speed
What we're looking for
- Proficiency in Python and/or Node.js with strong understanding of backend development principles
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Solid knowledge of RESTful API design and development
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL and NoSQL)
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Preferred: Experience with financial technology or fintech systems
- Preferred: Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Preferred: Experience with message queuing systems and event-driven architectures
