Backend Developer Requirements
Summary
Builds and maintains Node.js/Express REST APIs and PostgreSQL/MySQL databases for a property-management system used by hotels.
- Strong experience with Node.js and Express.js
- Able to design and develop RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Understanding of authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth)
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks
- Familiar with TypeScript and Git.
- Knowledge of software architecture, scalability, security, and best practices
- Able to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean)
- Experience with Redis, queues, and background jobs
- Experience in hospitality, travel, payment, or booking systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Ability to independently design backend systems and database schemas from business requirements without detailed technical guidance
