The Backend Developer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for a digital campaign management platform using .NET technologies. What you'll be doing:
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for our digital campaign management platform using .NET technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX/UI designers, and other developers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
Implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and version control
Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous monitoring, profiling, and improvement
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of our platform's backend architecture
Integrate backend services with various internal and external systems, such as databases, message queues, and third-party APIs
Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on platform users
Stay up-to-date with the latest .NET technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and propose adoption when appropriate
Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including API specifications, database schemas, and architecture diagrams
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude to improve development productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency
Design and implement highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems
Apply distributed systems concepts and patterns to build resilient, high-performance backend servicesParticipate in Agile/Scrum development practices and contribute to iterative delivery and continuous improvement
Containerize backend applications using Docker and deploy and manage services using Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Develop and maintain event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus and asynchronous messaging patterns
Who we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in backend development using .NET technologies (e.g.NET Core)
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices
Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Microsoft SQL and elastic Pulls) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework)
Familiarity with message queues (e.g.,ABS, RabbitMQ) and caching technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached)
Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., cypress) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience in unit testing frameworks (eg.xunit)
Solid understanding of software development best practices, including SOLID principles, DRY, and YAGNI
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and propose effective solutions
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and distributed systems
Experience building high-scale, high-traffic backend applications and services
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude to improve development productivity and code quality
Experience with API gateways, rate limiting, and API management
Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as Application Insights and OpenTelemetry
Experience with Git version control and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
Experience designing high-performance, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant distributed systems
Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Experience working on high-scale, gaming, or other high-traffic platforms is a plus
