Backend Engineer
You will design build and maintain production backend services and APIs that support financial positions auctions portfolio tracking and blockchain transactions. You will work with databases asynchronous workflows and event driven systems where accuracy consistency security and reliability are critical. You will integrate services with DeFi protocols and blockchain infrastructure and own production systems through monitoring debugging and incident response. You will also contribute to architecture security standards and engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain production backend services and APIs
- Build systems that coordinate financial and blockchain transactions
- Develop infrastructure for positions auctions and portfolio tracking
- Work with databases and accurate consistent data models
- Build and maintain asynchronous and event driven workflows
- Integrate backend systems with DeFi protocols and blockchain infrastructure
- Monitor debug and respond to incidents in production services
- Contribute to architecture security and engineering decisions
- Establish engineering standards and best practices
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production backend systems
- Proficiency in Rust or TypeScript and willingness to work across both
- Experience designing reliable APIs services and data models
- Understanding of databases and distributed or event driven systems
- Experience owning software through development deployment and production operation
- Problem-solving skills and attention to correctness
- Ability to work independently in a small fast-moving engineering team
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with DeFi lending and borrowing protocols
- Experience with Morpho or similar protocols
- Stablecoin or yield infrastructure experience
- Experience building financial trading or payments systems
- Experience with GCP GKE and Terraform
- Knowledge of CI/CD observability and production infrastructure
- Experience with blockchain transactions and smart contracts
