Job Summary
Join a confidential AI startup as a Backend Engineer (AI) to build and operate scalable backend services and inference pipelines that power AI interactions with high performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate backend services that power AI-driven products to ensure reliability and scalability
- Design and implement inference pipelines, orchestration layers, and production APIs to support AI features
- Optimize system performance by improving latency, throughput, caching, batching, and streaming processes
- Monitor production systems using logging, alerting, and observability tools to maintain uptime and detect issues
- Debug and resolve issues in distributed systems to enhance system reliability at scale
- Collaborate closely with AI, Machine Learning, and Product teams to deliver production-ready AI features
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience with large language models (LLMs), AI inference, embeddings, or Generative AI applications
- Background in AI, Generative AI, AI Infrastructure, Cloud Platforms, Developer Platforms, SaaS, or Distributed Systems environments
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Node.js
