Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design, end‑to‑end development, and performance optimisation of the core cross‑border payment platform, managing the full payment lifecycle including acquiring, clearing, settlement, and ledger accounting.
  • Architect robust anti‑fund‑loss frameworks by analysing transaction risks and designing automated reconciliation engines, exception‑handling systems, and continuous fund audits to eliminate financial leaks and capital exposure.
  • Spearhead integrations with international payment rails, banking channels, local payment methods (LPMs), and major credit card networks, designing configurations to handle complex cross‑border variables such as localized compliance, dynamic FX rates, and multi‑currency settlement.
  • Continuously optimise system infrastructure to guarantee high availability, low latency, and operational efficiency, solving critical distributed system challenges involving massive concurrency and strict data consistency.
  • Partner closely with risk management, corporate finance, compliance, and product teams to drive continuous improvements in payment system stability, security, and financial compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional, hands‑on Java development experience, with at least 2+ years dedicated to technical architecture and distributed system design.
  • 2+ years of specialised experience building and maintaining payment infrastructure, with deep proficiency in the core logic, architecture, and transaction flows of cross‑border payment platforms.
  • Proven track record of serving as the lead developer or architect for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of a core payment platform (covering acquiring, clearing, or settlement).
  • Strong understanding of capital protection frameworks and practical experience diagnosing fund‑loss incidents or designing automated mitigation systems such as high‑speed reconciliation engines or fund audits.
  • Prior experience handling integrations with international payment rails, banking APIs, local payment methods (LPMs), and credit card networks is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a proactive approach to technical problem‑solving.
