Backend Engineer Core Banking and Product Features
You will develop and operate Java and Kotlin backend applications for core banking systems. You will design reliable, high-performance applications and architecture, select middleware, use infrastructure to resolve system challenges, and tune, monitor, and respond to alerts for microservices. You will be expected to join the project through a secondment to PayPay Bank.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate Java and Kotlin backend applications for core banking systems
- Design and develop applications for performance, stability, and high reliability
- Implement infrastructure usage to resolve system challenges
- Design architecture based on application requirements and select middleware
- Tune microservice performance, configure monitoring, and respond to alerts
Requirements
- 3–5 years of backend development experience
- Practical Java experience and strong skills in other common programming languages
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming fundamentals
- Database schema design and efficient query creation for relational and NoSQL databases
- Web application development and tuning experience, including security considerations
- Business-level conversational English
- Hands-on professional software development experience using AI or LLM tools
