Backend Engineer E2 - Ecosystem
Summary
Build and maintain scalable APIs and services for BitGo’s crypto platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship features and mentor peers.
You will design, build, document, and maintain scalable APIs, libraries, and services for an API-first crypto platform. You will own features from inception through deployment and customer integration, collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers, improve application performance, fix bugs, participate in code reviews, evaluate technologies, and mentor peers.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services
- Own functionality and scalability features from inception to deployment and customer integration
- Expose and document functionality for UI users, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship features
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Evaluate and implement technologies to improve development efficiency
- Participate in code reviews
- Refine product requirements with product managers, designers, and engineers
- Mentor peers through code reviews and education on best practices
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of backend and server-side development experience
- Algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Strong experience with RESTful API design
- Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Experience with unit and functional testing and debugging
- Experience with Git, GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools
- Ability to work quickly and adjust course in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline
- Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain
- Experience developing consumer-facing crypto products
- Experience building public-facing APIs in a production environment
- Ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React
- Experience working with clients or business partners
- Familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems
