Backend Engineer (Java Microservices – Card & Unsecured Loan)

Job Requirements

• 3–6 years of hands-on backend development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java (11/17/21) and Spring Boot (Spring Web, Security, Data).
• Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle), SQL optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven messaging.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Proficiency in automated testing using JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

• Experience with legacy Java EE/J2EE applications (EJB, Servlets, SOAP/WSDL, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss).
• Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech experience, particularly in credit cards and unsecured lending.
• Knowledge of loan origination, credit bureau integration, revolving credit lines (Cashline), and Straight-Through Processing (STP).
• Familiarity with microservice resilience patterns, API contract testing, and distributed tracing (Resilience4j, Pact, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger).
