In this backend-focused role, you will help build and scale Deel’s APIs and services used by global customers. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design robust features, optimize performance, and ensure a customer-centric engineering approach. - Collaborate in a cross-functional team (Frontend, Product, Designers, QA) to deliver seamless experiences
- Participate in product planning from discovery to deployment throughout the SDLC
- Develop and enhance features, APIs, and continually improve products
- Identify and fix bugs rapidly to maintain Deel speed
- Deliver quality engineering with a customer-centric focus
- Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency
- Experience with at least one other server-side language
- SQL expertise with PostgreSQL, query optimization, migrations, data modeling
- Strong understanding of OOP and design patterns
- Designing scalable systems to handle high growth and load
- API development with input validation, JWT, and secure, scalable queue-based architectures
- At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Remote collaboration and proactive communication
- Ownership and autonomy balanced with teamwork
- Clear explanation of complex technical concepts to varied audiences
