Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js.
• Build scalable and reliable APIs, services, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database structures and queries.
• Work with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
• Implement and manage data storage solutions, including relational databases and key-value stores.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of microservices-based architectures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation, providing passive support approximately one week per month.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing backend applications with Node.js and JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.
• Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AKS.
• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting applications using tools such as Grafana.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Must‑have skills: Node.js, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Architecture Design, Kafka, Kubernetes / AKS / Docker, Grafana, Microservices, Messaging/Event Architecture.
• Nice to have: Python, React.js.
