Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js.
- Build scalable and reliable APIs, services, and integrations.
- Develop and maintain PostgreSQL database structures and queries.
- Work with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Implement and manage data storage solutions, including relational databases and key-value stores.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of microservices-based architectures.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation, providing passive support approximately one week per month.
Qualifications
- Proven experience developing backend applications with Node.js and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Experience working with Kafka or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.
- Experience with Redis or similar caching technologies.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AKS.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting applications using tools such as Grafana.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Must‑have skills: Node.js, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Architecture Design, Kafka, Kubernetes / AKS / Docker, Grafana, Microservices, Messaging/Event Architecture.
- Nice to have: Python, React.js.
