Backend Engineer - Partner Flow
Summary
iwoca is hiring a backend engineer for its Partner Flow team, building and owning end-to-end features for partner integrations and the Lending API that let small businesses access financing. Day-to-day involves designing scalable Python/PostgreSQL systems, running conversion experiments (RCTs), and using AI coding tools.
As a Back End Engineer on the Partner Flow team, you shape how thousands of small businesses access iwoca financing through embedded flows and the Lending API. You will own features end-to-end, collaborating with partners and internal stakeholders to create robust, scalable systems. Your work will focus on improving partner onboarding, conversion through experiments, and delivering impactful solutions for partner-referred customers. - Document code, processes, and architectures to improve maintainability
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to design effective solutions and use data to guide decisions
- Contribute to AI-assisted development with a focus on correctness, performance and security
- Experience designing and building scalable back-end systems, ideally in Python
- Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Experience building and maintaining APIs that are easy to use, reliable, and well-documented
- Experience managing projects end to end from problem understanding to solution delivery
