Backend Engineer – Python / FastAPI / Azure

Project description

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to design and develop scalable, production-grade backend applications and APIs. The role focuses on Python/FastAPI development, cloud-native deployment on Microsoft Azure, and effective use of AI-assisted development tools throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs using Python and FastAPI. Own end-to-end development from implementation and testing through deployment, monitoring, and observability. Build and deploy cloud-native solutions using Azure and containerized environments. Implement CI/CD pipelines and engineering automation using GitHub Actions and Docker. Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and delivery. Ensure application reliability, scalability, maintainability, and production readiness.

SKILLS

Must have

• Mandatory Skills Description Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI, including designing and implementing scalable, production-grade APIs and backend solutions. Experience across the full application lifecycle, including development, containerization, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and observability. Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions. Strong ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, Codex, and VS Code effectively within day-to-day software development. Experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly AKS, Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis. Familiarity with FastMCP and building AI-enabled or MCP-based backend services. Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and operational best practices for cloud-native production applications.
