Backend Engineer - Qlik Replicate,Middleware / Product Installation,Configuration
Summary
Installs, configures, and maintains data replication middleware (e.g., Qlik Replicate) and cloud CDC pipelines, ensuring real-time data sync between enterprise systems and cloud targets.
Experience and Skills Required
Middleware / Product Installation &Configuration:
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining middleware or data replication products (QlikReplicate, IBM InfoSphere DataStage/CDC, Oracle GoldenGate, Debezium, or similar) in an enterprise environment.
• Practical experience onboarding new source systems into a CDC platform, including endpoint configuration, initial full-load, and incremental change capture setup.
• Working knowledge of source database technologies commonly paired with CDC middleware (e.g. DB2, VSAM, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with message broker/streaming integration (Kafka, AWS MSK) as a CDC target or intermediary layer.
Cloud Knowledge:
• Hands-on experience with AWS core services relevant to CDC architectures (EC2, MSK, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM,VPC/networking).
• Understanding of hybrid connectivity patterns between on-premise mainframe/data center environments and cloud target environments (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway).
• Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals: IAM least-privilege design, secrets management, encryption in transit and at rest.
• Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud is an advantage but not required, given the AWS-centric target environment.
DevSecOps & Automation (Preferred):
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform, for provisioning and supporting cloud resources.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines(GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD) to automate configuration deployment and change management for replication tasks.
• Familiarity with configuration management and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible) to automate repetitive onboarding and maintenance tasks.
• Understanding of security best practices for CI/CD pipelines and secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to build dashboards and alerts for replication health.
• Experience with Git and modern branching workflows for managing configuration-as-code and documentation.
