Backend Engineer

Job Summary:

The Backend Engineer builds and maintains the core services, APIs, and integrations that power the company's enterprise-wide Digital Products & Platforms (DPP) ecosystem. This role is responsible for delivering secure, scalable backend capabilities across core product domains - Customer Acquisition, Marketing Engagement, Service Operations, and Data Enablement. The engineer collaborates closely with DPP Product Managers, frontend engineering, QA, DevOps, Data teams, and vendor platforms to implement business logic, integration layers, and backend automation supporting customer and operational journeys.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields.
  • 3-6+ years of hands-on backend development experience (APIs, microservices, systems integration).
  • Proven track record delivering production-grade services in high-availability environments.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional technology teams.
  • Exposure to CRM, MarTech, loyalty systems, or integrated resort operations is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, Go - depending on IT environment).
  • Skilled in designing and implementing APIs using REST and GraphQL.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise systems or external platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, caching, distributed systems and data platforms (Snowflake, DataBricks)
  • Understanding of message queues, event-driven patterns, or webhook-based integrations.
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to resolve complex backend issues.
  • Awareness of secure coding practices, API authentication/authorization, and data privacy.
