Summary
Lead backend engineering for KAST's compliance and risk products: design and build scalable Go services and APIs, own the technical architecture for onboarding, monitoring, and internal tooling, translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions, and mentor engineers. You will lead the design and development of backend systems for compliance and risk products. You will build scalable Go services and APIs, own technical architecture, translate regulatory needs into technical solutions, improve operational automation, and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of backend systems for compliance and risk products
- Build scalable services and APIs using Go
- Own technical architecture for onboarding, monitoring, restrictions, and internal tooling
- Translate regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions with Compliance, Risk, AML Ops, and Product stakeholders
- Design reliable, auditable, secure, and observable systems
- Improve automation and operational efficiency across compliance processes
- Mentor engineers and establish backend engineering standards
- Participate in hiring and scale the engineering team
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Backend engineering expertise with Go
- Experience building production-grade APIs and distributed systems
- Understanding of system reliability, security, and auditability
- Experience working cross-functionally with compliance and operational stakeholders
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern engineering workflows
- Experience with compliance, fintech, payments, fraud, identity, or risk-related products
- Familiarity with KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, or operational tooling
- Experience in crypto, stablecoins, or Web3 infrastructure
- Experience building internal tooling and workflow systems
- Exposure to multi-jurisdiction compliance environments
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and high-scale backend systems
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, or Redis
