Job Description
Summary:
- Location: Montreal
- Work Mode: Hybrid (day 1 onboarding onsite / in-office presence required 3x/week)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with business users and a strong product owner team in an agile environment.
- Assume responsibility for projects within the system, clarifying business requirements.
- Ensure consistent, clean code implementation with timely delivery.
- Work effectively in a team of over 30 people, including 20 Java server-side developers across different geographies.
- Manage multiple priorities and provide direct access to the business unit.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of software design principles: MVC, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, multithreading, caching, recursion.
- Proficient in core Java: class loading, garbage collection, Java collections API, Reflections API, Java 8 Streams and Functional Programming.
- Experience with Non-Relational Databases and No-SQL (Mongo DB).
- Knowledge of BDD (behavior-driven development) with JBehave/Cucumber.
- Experience with DMN and BPMN tooling.
- Proficiency in RESTful Web services.
- Strong communication skills to work with global team members across different time zones.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL (DB 2).
- Experience with Object Relation Mapping technologies: JPA/Hibernate.
- Familiarity with Snowflake DB.
- Understanding of HTTP, XML, JSON.
- Experience with Unix/Linux.
- Knowledge of TDD (test-driven development).
- Proficiency in GIT source code management.
- Familiarity with React.js.
