Backend Software Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python, C#, and SQL to develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting mission-critical systems that power our AI-driven legal technology platform. This role is heavily focused on backend engineering, including API development, database design and optimization, asynchronous processing, and cloud-native service development. The candidate will work closely with AI engineers, product teams, and other software engineers to build reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, test, and support mission-critical backend systems
Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications and services
Design and develop scalable REST APIs
Perform database design and optimization
Implement asynchronous or event-driven architectures
Develop and support production-grade backend applications
Work closely with AI engineers, product teams, and other software engineers
About you
Strong professional experience in Python development for backend services and APIs
Strong professional experience in C#/.NET application development
Strong database expertise in SQL with experience in database design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning
Experience designing and developing scalable REST APIs
Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases
Experience with asynchronous or event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies)
Experience developing and supporting production-grade backend applications
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture (preferred)
