Backend Software Engineer
Summary
Backend engineer joining a team that builds and maintains geospatial data and features for Apple Maps, developing applications and tools to process large volumes of data. Core stack is Scala/Java/C++ with Spark or Flink; based in Malmö (3 days on site) on a 12-month contract with possible extension.

Responsibilities
- Identify requirements of new features, and propose design and solution.
- Implement features in a suitable programming language.
- Take ownership of delivering features and improvements solving the business problem at hand.
Must-have Qualifications
- Very strong in programming, system design and problem solving.
- At least +8 years of experience in development
- Professional experience from writing code in Scala, Java, C++ or similar.
- Professional experience with Spark or Flink.
- Ability to take ownership, identify requirements, prioritise and make progress in an environment with limited given input.
- Fluent communication in English with a sense for listen to others as well as getting you message through in a crisp way.
- Experience in cross team collaboration and communication.

- Experience of data engineering in large and complex domains.
- Experience of data engineering in large and complex domains.
- Experience with frameworks like Akka, Play (Scala), Spring.
- Experience with GIS, Geographical Data and Toolkits such as JTS, ArcGIS, QGIS, OpenJump etc.
