Backend Software Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain scalable backend services in Java or Node.js, design RESTful APIs, and implement SOA/EDA architectures for an HR tech platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve backend services (Java and/or Node.js) with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and distributed services
- Participate in defining and implementing service-oriented (SOA) and event-driven (EDA) architectures
- Work hands‑on to resolve complex issues and perform production troubleshooting
- Ensure engineering best practices: clean code, automated testing, observability, and monitoring
- Collaborate with technical teams, participate in code reviews, and support the continuous improvement of development practices
- Support and advance DevOps and CI/CD practices, ensuring efficiency in the delivery cycle
- Implement integrations with internal systems and external platforms such as Salesforce and Lumis
Requirements
- Solid experience as a Software Engineer with a backend focus
- Proficiency in Java and/or Node.js
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Experience with SOA and EDA architectures
- Experience with databases: SQL (MySQL, Oracle), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD best practices
- Version control with Git (Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab)
- Cloud environments (AWS)
