Backup Care Specialist
Summary
Provides emergency backup care solutions for families by sourcing and validating local childcare, senior care, or pet care providers within 4-6 hours of request.
Wellthy is seeking a Backup Care Specialist to support members in finding temporary and reliable care solutions for children, adult dependents, or pets during emergencies. You will help members establish a tailored Backup Care Circle of trusted individuals and licensed providers, guiding them through sourcing and validating local care options to build a robust backup care framework for immediate and future needs.
Responsibilities will include:
- Engage directly with members to understand and address their backup care needs
- Identify and engage reliable vendors and local providers to fulfill member requests, using innovative approaches to find suitable solutions
- Expand the Care Network by establishing connections with local providers, including private caregivers
- Manage the end-to-end process of delivering immediate and sustainable care solutions to families
- Operate with urgency to identify at least one viable backup care solution for each member within 4-6 hours of request
- Collaborate closely with Care Operations to implement and refine best practices and problem-solve in real time
- Demonstrate independence and confidence in managing shift schedules
- Support the expansion of local resources within the Wellthy Care Network, multitasking during low volume periods
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of childcare and/or senior care experience, especially in backup care
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in healthcare or child development (preferred but not required)
- Are bilingual in English and Spanish (a plus, but not required)
- Have a proven track record of providing effective support to families in need
- Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and operate with a sense of urgency
- Are confident in managing shift schedules and working independently
- Are familiar with the local care provider landscape, including licensed providers and private caregivers
- Can employ innovative approaches for sourcing suitable backup care solutions
- Show compassion and commitment to enhancing the member journey
- Are willing to collaborate closely with Care Operations and other team members
Shifts Available:
- Morning: 6am-2pm ET
- Afternoon: 1pm-9pm ET
- Evening: 3pm-11pm ET
- Overnight: 11pm-7am ET
Training hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm ET for the first 2 weeks.
Total Compensation
Salary range is $24-$29/hour, depending on shift and experience.
